Finding that constant amidst the chaos – ways to get back centered

There seems to be something in the air lately. I have seen a lot of bickering among friends – the most recent on social media. And as I talk to the parties involved, and seeing how stressed out the parties are, one word goes through my mind. Why?

I have had my own share of issues, and the feelings that ensued I have not felt in a while, since my RPG Mafia days. In those days, I learned how to work under high pressure situations, because literally things that you said or did could and would result in the end of your game character. At the same time, when I used to read back on old logs and such, I realized how high-strung I was (for me, anyway). I felt like I had to walk on eggshells with some people, because they were a bunch of drama-filled people who were miserable or had no lives outside of the game. The last major interaction I had with one of them was when she second-guessed my RL education…that it “didn’t make sense” to have the degrees that I had. And I was always on the defensive – outside my circle of friends, I always had to watch what I said or else someone would get offended and that could set someone or something off. That and more was eventually why i left that community.

Places that I miss in Second Life

Hey guys! I have noticed that there is a lot of nostalgic feelings  about Second Life lately on social media. People are talking about scenic sims that they miss, stores that they miss shopping at, and the like. So I decided to go through some old landmarks and photos to see what I miss in Second Life.

This was a photo that was long overdue for me to blog 🙂

My Black Friday Finds

Okay – I have decided to show you guys some of the stuff that I have been getting for these Black Friday sales. Shopping is definitely therapeutic. With the exception of Blueberry, it was nice just teleporting from store to store and then walking/camming around to try on and buy items. Second Life residents get all the craziness of Black Friday every time we try to get into a new event round…sometimes I wonder why do we do this to ourselves.

I spoke with one of my cousins in RL and she said that she didn’t feel the need to shop just because it was Black Friday. She has everything she needs, and doesn’t need a lot of stuff. Bath & Body Works had some sales prior to Thanksgiving, so I bought some lotions and hand soaps. Could I had lived without them? Sure. But since I look at their items throughout the year and wonder how a certain scent smells or not willing to pay $15 for an item, then Black Friday (and similar sales) would be the perfect time to get them. The same applies for Second Life. And store owners, take note: If it wasn’t for being able to look at a store’s Flickr stream to see what what they have, I wouldn’t had bought as much stuff.

Has Second Life Modeling died?

Hey guys! I think I may have to start blogging in the mornings because otherwise I cannot stay in this hot room for long to get much of anything done…smh.

I saw on Facebook a video that Crista Wellens had made regarding the state of fashion modeling in Second Life. It is the first episode of her venture into vlogging, and I thought it started off with a bang. She makes a statement in saying that “modeling as we know it in Second Life is dead”, which is enough to stir up some emotion in those who are professional models in SL.

I was challenged by someone to do a reaction blog to this video, so…challenge accepted!

Luxe Box January 2017 Reveal

Hey guys – hope everyone is enjoying the new year! I have decided to do another Luxe Box reveal & review. The first one I did was in June, so things have changed a little since then. Now you can join the group on the 15th of the month for 3000L. This comes in handy because if you really want an item (or more) after you see what is in the subscription for the month, you can still get it.
