Carilynn O’Hare Tribute Fashion Show

Last night I went to a special tribute show for Carilynn O’Hare. Although I had never had the pleasure of meeting her personally, I did know of her, and I saw her at SL fashion shows and events. Even though the show was held at 6 PM SLT, there were over 90 people on two sims in attendance – something that I had never seen for that time of night or on that day of the week. In a time where models have come under fire for everything from having disproportionate shapes to not having that much of an impact on today’s SL fashion, it was honestly a good day to be a Second Life model. There was not only so much talent on the stage and in the audience, but to see the impact that one person had on a group of people was truly inspiring.

Has Second Life Modeling died?

Hey guys! I think I may have to start blogging in the mornings because otherwise I cannot stay in this hot room for long to get much of anything done…smh.

I saw on Facebook a video that Crista Wellens had made regarding the state of fashion modeling in Second Life. It is the first episode of her venture into vlogging, and I thought it started off with a bang. She makes a statement in saying that “modeling as we know it in Second Life is dead”, which is enough to stir up some emotion in those who are professional models in SL.

I was challenged by someone to do a reaction blog to this video, so…challenge accepted!

Ferosh Autumn/Winter Trend Showcase

Hey guys! On Saturday I attended my first fashion show of the year at Ferosh. They had their Autumn/Winter Trend Showcase with their models, graduates, and students modeling real life trends on the runway. The hostess, Xandrah Sciavo, informed us about what we were about to see on that day.

In December, Ferosh published our A/W 2016 Trend Issue. Within those pages, real life fashion trends from 2016/2017’s runways were translated onto our pages into the language of virtual fashion by the skillful stylists and photographers of Ferosh. Second Life designers featured include but are not limited to sYs, Gizza, Gabriel, booN, Deadwool, COCO, Kauna, Dead Dollz, Solidea Folies, United Colors, David Heather, Vive Nine, Ryvolter Asteria, Kitja, Spirit, Ingenue, Paper Couture, Reverie, Secret Store, Rowne, Ison, Malena Von Dash, Mimikri, Seul, Ricielli, Rebel Gal, Amitomo, CLAVv, Amrie, Shi, Mai Bilavio, titzuki, and more. Today, we invite you to join us and enjoy the show as Ferosh pays homage to the real world fashion trends of the current season as our talented team of FFI students and Ferosh Models and Supermodels bring these looks to life on our winter runway.

The Fantasy Angels Show – part 2 of auditions

Hey guys! Last Saturday I was able to attend the Fantasy Angels live show, where the second round of auditions were taking place. I thought the last show was creative, but I must say that the models who made it through the first round truly stepped up their game at this show. They were so good that the Fantasy Angels team took on 5 Super Angels, and in addition, one model won an opportunity to be the lead model of their next advertisement campaign. You can read the details here.

I was fortunate to be able to get photos this time, because 10 minutes before the show started, I crashed. I hardly ever crash now with my current computer, so maybe it had a hard time computing all of the heavenly goodness at the event? Anyways…hope you enjoy my photos…and congrats to all of the models who were able to make it this far!
