Mens’ Fashion Takeover: MR SL 2018 & PREY Show

Hey guys! Saturday I had fun taking pictures at the Mr SL Finale and the all-male fashion show at PREY. This was exciting to see so many well dressed guys at once. I know the “typical” SL guy thinks that this level of fashion may be too feminine or stylized, but the great thing about clothing is that you can accessorize as you see fit. Don’t want all of the frills and sparkles? Don’t add them. Don’t want all of the bold colors? Get them in a neutral color. I hope this will inspire some guys to purchase some new designs!

I’ll start off with PREY’s show first, since the show was shorter.

The overall look of the runway was classic Fashion Week – no frills here but didn’t take away from the polished look.

Normally when I take pictures of fashion shows, I like to get the commentary of what the models are wearing. But since I was taking pics at Mr. SL, there was only so much I could do :p Instead I chose to be in awe at the styling these guys did. In one photo you can see the vendors for sale, and several outfits were named after the models. These were not all of the outfits in the show, so think of this as some show highlights 🙂 The outfits are now at the mainstore – I went there myself to verify.

The second show I want to talk about is Mr. SL. It started at 10 AM SLT, and lasted easily 6 hours. Amazingly I only crashed once ^^ Unfortunately a few of the guys’ outfits did not rez so I was not able to get them. But luckily there was a video of the finale (only 3 hours :D) so we can see what we missed.

Venom Zanzibar was the text host for the finale, and I will be illustrating the outfits based on what was said in local chat.

MR SL ♛ Colombia 2018 – Lljoe EL DORADO Traditional costume of the ancestors of the Colombian civilization CHIBCHA. MR SL ♛ Colombia, as a Colombian, use this costume in representation of the past, using a loincloth from the CWB store with leopard textile base that was used that time accompanying it with accessories such as earrings, bracelets, chains,stones, septum, necklaces from stores ZIBSKA, RYCA, SWALLOW and ERRATIC. All in gold, he used a golden base paint from the MAD store, made exclusively for this suit.

MR SL ♛ Colombia would like to thanks this store for its collaboration. He also has black base paint on the feet from TITZUKI and on his head he used a golden headdress from the E.V.E , adding red and silver spheres to represent the beliefs of nature in this case the nine planets in their time representing the earth as the human planet.

MR SL ♛ Czech Republic 2018 – Wassaabii. MR SL ♛ Czech Republic greets you in his native tongue, saying “Dobrý večer dámy a pánové”. He chose to represent Czech Republic because it is his home. He was born there, and his ancestors and family are from there. He continues, that he thinks that not so many people know of his country or their beautiful traditions. MR SL ♛ Czech Republic representing his country today by wearing a National White Shirt by Izel Couture with embroidered flowers and traditional long pants with high boots, both from Gabriel.

MR SL ♛ Ecuador 2018 – Mishi2223 MR SL ♛ Ecuador’s National Costume is based mainly on the cultural and natural value of his country Ecuador. They are a multiethnic and pluricultural country, and they enjoy in their land from the Sierra,which offers snow-capped mountains, the Coast, which offers its beautiful beaches, East, where you can find a variety of animals and wild vegetation and the Insular Region, The majestic Galapagos Islands a Terrenal paradise!

MR SL ♛ Ecuador is inspired by the peculiar and colorful color of the peacock, whose feathers were used by the Incas for clothing, portrayed the color of my flag mixed in feathers and gems, gold accessories which was and it is very used at present for the jewelry making in CHORDELEG a town of the Sierra. On his ankle he wears butterflies that represent the variety of species such as Blue Morpho that exist in Eastern Ecuador. Finally, floating around our MR SL ♛ Ecuador are tiny Porto moons and stars symbolizing those that were adored by the Incas, an ancestral civilization of Ecuador. MR SL ♛ Ecuador wears briefs by MIND CARLBERG and adds a mask, collar, necklace, wings and butterflies by AZOURY, arm cuffs by REALEVIL, earrings by SPELL, feathers by DD, shoulder blades by CB and dancing stars by E.V.E.

MR SL ♛ Ireland 2018 – ChrLstiangrey MR SL ♛ Ireland greets us in his native tongue, “Dia duit, Hello! / Tráthnóna maith agat, Good evening / céad míle fáilte, a hundred thousand welcomes / Conas atá tú?, How are you?” MR SL ♛ Ireland’s outfit is a traditional yet formal Irish dress including a kilt, popularized by the Gaelic Revival around the turn of the 19th century. Modern day dress pairs the kilt with a formal suit coat and tie with ghillie brogues, typical footwear worn with a kilt. In addition, there are accents such as the sporran and shamrock which can be traced back to the early 1700’s. And finally, with many Irishmen known for their auburn hair, MR SL ♛ Ireland has chosen an overall, iconic and recognizable look, often worn at today’s formal Irish events. He represents this country with great pride.

MR SL ♛ Spain 2018 – Cataligna90 MR SL ♛ Spain says “Hola a todos!” and shows you The Torero’s Traditional Outfit. While he disagrees with what the Torero does, he likes the level of style very much. This traditional dress besides having its own value also has the ability to allow Torero to move fluidly and fast. Composed of “La Montera”, a black hat, widened on both sides; “El Corbatin” a knit neckline, similar to a small tie; “The chaquetilla” a short, rigid jacket with big shoulders accompanied by a white shirt and waistcoat; “La Taleguilla” is a very tight pants that come from the waist just below the knee, where they are stitched over decorated cords; Low and black shoes; “El Capote de Paseo” a silk cap, short adorned with luxurious and important decorations, its function is purely ornamental; Trousers and jacket are of the same color and adorned with decorations, gold coins and paillettes. The most common colors are Red Garnet, Purple, Light Blue, Pale Pink, White and Tobacco. MR SL ♛ Spain’s costume today comprises of entire outfit by Bare Rose, with a cape he made himself, the shoulders are by GTS Design modified to add a Garnet Gem himself, and his hair is by Stealthic.

MR SL ♛ UK 2018 – DragonGuyUK MR SL ♛ UK has decided to style “outside of the box” and created his styling with British elements and colors of the Union Jack Flag. His inspiration is the British Victorian Years-19th century. He has chosen to mix and match with British tradition so he is wearing a British Army Uniform. His jacket is by Wicca’s Wardrobe, the red leggings are from !Y^. The hat he made himself, to create a Victorian formal with a lovely teapot & cup of tea, as it’s british traditional drink dating back to the 1660’s with King Charles after the concept of Afternoon Tea.

Red Roses are the traditional British National Flower so he has chosen to wear a rose in his mouth and some in his Victorian formal hat. His brooch of the Lion of Great Excellence from Chop Zuey which is inspired by the British National Animal which has the Lion logo from United Kingdom Sports. The GoT Rings (House Tully) ring from The Forge is inspired by the Famous Fish and Chips- a very popular take away from the United Kingdom. His glasses *+Crie Style+* Sprung-Jules is inspired by Victorian timeline for traveling in the past which represents his styling in this outfit. His mustache from Deadwool , a very stylish facial hair from the Victorian Era. The riding boots from RFYRE represents the British Army’s footwear while doing their job on horseback, and are a very useful boot to wear for their job.

MR SL ♛ Germany 2018 – Malice Yven Mr. SL ♛ Germany has some very fond memories of his time living in Germany as a child. The wide open fields, the mountains and how kind all of the people are. One of his favorite things to do was to play with the German puppet that his parents had gotten him. He hopes that through this outfit he can express the fun of that experience with you. Mr. SL ♛ Germany started this journey down memory lane with a lovely lederhosen set from avatar bizza, then added a pair of simple wooden clogs from FANTAVATAR & MOONSTRUCK and lastly to give our puppet the ability to dance around he included a set of marionette controls and string from curio obscura.

MR SL ♛ India is practically pulsating with pure primal sex appeal in this super sexy lace-up harness and briefs outfit in pitch black colour from Gabriel. The laces in the front of the chest harness and on the briefs look temptingly fun for anyone to tug on and play with…not to mention undo. The sleek leather material of the briefs is really flirtatiously form fitting and will definitely raise a few eyebrows. The two-piece outfit is perfectly compatible with Signature, Belleza, and Aesthetic male bodies, making it very flexible, to say the least. MR SL ♛ India adds to his sexy ensemble by Gabriel, jewelry by MANDALA, a leg harness by Shi, footwear by Glam Affair, and a mask by Aesthetica. He finishes his styling by adding a cape by PEQE and wings by BareRose.

MR SL ♛ Ireland became enthusiastic about the Victor’s Secret challenge after seeing this amazing outfit from Gabriel. While the fantasy genre is totally out of his comfort zone, he couldn’t help himself and his excitement grew as is evident by the added a scarf and body glitter by E.V.E and a halo, horns and wings by C L A Vv. The ethereal quality of wings and scarf balance the fierce image of the leather harness and briefs making this worthy of any couture event.

MR SL ♛ Colombia was inspired by the eroticism that you find BDSM, which is why he chose the color red, reflecting pleasure, sensuality and sexual domain. MR SL ♛ Colombia decided to show the eroctic side through the red color and added some accessories for the sensual Briefs and Harness costume from Gabriel, wearing red leather ribbon wings with roses by RO. In his left hand he wears a glove from the GMA store and in his right hand is painted red with a tattoo from ZIBSKA, accompanied by a whip from MOSSU. He has a septum piercing and earrings from SWALLOW, and a gold snake necklace by FAUN. As an erotic essence, he wears socks by KAJU and on his back, he wears a corset style tattoo. To complete his ensemble, he adds black boots by Deadwool.

MR SL ♛ Spain seductively prances across the runway with a determined air, for now he is the angel of perdition and earthly pleasures! Be seduced by his double personality for a while, a bit of sweet mixed with a bit of spicy. His smooth gaze attracts all his victims into his world full of sins and desires. Be careful, innocent souls, for you cannot resist him for long! MR SL ♛ Spain is wearing the harness and briefs by Gabriel with wings from Blueberry. He accessorizes with a necklace by Supernatural, armbands and bracelets by Moondance Boutique, and earrings by Marmelade. Completing his ensemble, he adds a tattoo from Juna Artistic and a strawberry by Osmia to his mouth.

MR SL ♛ Ecuador inspiration for his outfit is from the movie, “City of Angels.” A representation of the innocent and yet sensual at the same time. The Angels are perfect beings that call the attention of mortals for their perfect physical figure. MR SL ♛ Ecuador 2018 chose to use white as the primary color, adding black accessories to give a more rebellious touch, to transition from an angel that is about to lose its wings, to fall to earth and into the sins of the flesh. MR SL ♛ Ecuador is wearing the harness and briefs set by Gabriel and adds boots and gloves, also by Gabriel, with wings by B@R. He accessorizes with a collar by Codex and cuffs by RealEvil to complete his ensemble.

Mr. SL ♛ Germany was inspired by that little devil that whispers in all of our ears telling us to do things in a naughtier way. He hopes that he can inspire everyone to go out and have a lil naughty fun. Mr. SL ♛ Germany started his transformation with the stunning lace up harness and brief set, as well as the take me leash from Gabriel and then to really let out his hellish side, he added the syrax horns from E.A. Studios, the Deception Demon Wings from Eternal Conflict and last but not least the Bento Demon Tail from Murder of Ravens.

MR SL ♛ UK arrives on the runway in his beautiful Victor’s Secret outfit inspired by “Wars of Roses” His visit to the University of Cambridge Tour last October gave him ideas on creating this beautiful outfit. MR SL ♛ UK loves the historical aspect of this styling from a war long ago. His styling for this challenge is both beautiful and sexy with the roses matching his theme. He is wearing a lace-up harness and sexy lace-up briefs from Gabriel designer Takuya Jinn. Looking to his head, he chose the warrior helmet by Body Factory with gorgeous red roses by Zibska, Adra with birds in flight around him, are also by Zibska. The collar is La Vie En Deux by Zibska. The face and body paint is ideal for this historical styling, War Face Paint makeup from N-R and Ghost’ink (FGC) ::Erebus Tattoo:: Red. He is also wearing beautiful white rose wings from Eternity Wings and the Innocence Container by Remarkable Oblivion and Cernunnos Sword Necklace by Labyrinth. He also wears Essential Leather Arm Bands from Noche and Rare Bracers (steel) by The Forge with his sexy warrior boots from Rebel Fire… and oh wait, what is he doing with his spear? Well isn’t he a sexy angel warrior!

MR SL ♛ Czech Republic would like to give you a show of personality with a touch of eroticism and beauty of the human body. The moment you see MR SL ♛ Czech Republic enter the runway is just a big WOW, in every way. He has styled the fitted lace up briefs and harness from Gabriel in his own way, accessorizing to achieve a glamorous look. MR SL ♛ Czech Republic wears fitted lace up briefs and harness from GABRIEL with wings from BLUEBERRY. He adds a headpiece from ERSCH, with decorated flying feathers from LODE. To finish his ensemble, he added some silver rings from MEVA and to give it the sexy angel look, he wears long blonde hair from eXxEsS.

MR SL ♛ Italy says, “Dark colours are the secret to showing beauty and youth.” The sexy briefs and harness made by Gabriel for this special occasion are showing the curves of the body in a ravishing way. The black leather and the steampunk style fit perfectly together. The steampunk style has post apocalyptic and fantasy features that are amongst the most imaginative of fashion styles. Leather chained gloves with metallic nails by Gabriel express the wildness, and with the leather arm band it gives the outfit fashion. The spiked gas mask by Corvus and the spiked collar by Cerberus Xing keeps it in the steampunk style, and gives a bit more mystery to the outfit. The wings and headpiece by E.V.E show us freedom. Sexy shoes by Gabriel are an essential component for completing your ultra seductive lingerie ensemble, and finishing the style with windblown hair by Tableau Vivant to give it more action.

MR SL ♛ Japan’s styling for Gabriel’s lace-up set has been inspired by the appearance of fantastical snow gods and goddesses with a touch of futuristic features. Why he chose to display himself as this character is because of his love for the movie Frozen, and simply because his favorite season is Winter. He felt like would be an appropriate time to style this outfit in a more winter like appearance. This styling has led me to many different direction style wise and who I am as a person. There is no black and white, we come in many shades. We have different spectrum’s as to who we are on the outside and the inside. MR SL ♛ Japan is wearing the Lace-Up set designed by Gabriel with wings and a headdress by PurpleMoon, a fur coat by Plastix and boots by Empire. He finishes his ensemble by adding body glitter by Izzie’s and a choker by Plastix.

MR SL ♛ UK arrives on the runway carrying his umbrella by [n.i], which he wears with his exclusive formal suit inspired by the British traditional fashion style from the mid 20th century, and “Tweed” after the name of the river along the Scottish Borders. Many men work the tweed suit it was very popular for special events, traditional sporting events and National Grand events. His exclusive suit is custom from KiB Designs By Kira Balestra, the suit is of tweed fabric textures, which is also taken from the United Kingdom’s traditional fashion and colors of the Union Jack. Tweed suits are good at being wind and water resistant when out in inclement weather. It works well in the United Kingdom since it rains often, and that is also the reason he carries his umbrella. His bowler hat by CC is inspired by Edward Coke, who originally created the first bowler hat in 1894. His pocket watch by EarthStones and Chop Zuey’s Orion Excuses Brooch are ideal accessories for this amazing suit. He finishes his styling with black leather shoes by CALIGULA and formal socks by ILLI.

MR SL ♛ Spain opens the restaurant door, agitated and excited, always in his paranoia and thousands of questions. He adjusts the rose brooch by SINCE 1975 and looks up looking for something. And here his gaze crosses with his lover. MR SL ♛ Spain walks toward him, in his black dress with a striped white shirt adorned with a coral papillon cummerbund by Kauna and shoes by Bakaboo. His man smiles and sets him deeply. Perhaps he is admiring the great crystal ring by Empyrean Forge, or perhaps the silver earring by Meva. The man stands up and takes his hand and says, “If you’re not too long, I’ll wait for you all my life!

MR SL ♛ Japan tells us he was inspired by classical, European styles. As a person who loves the dapper and dresses as such, this was a different route for him. He is usually minimal when it come to the formal side. For this outfit he wanted to give a classical with a soft vintage and steampunk presence. Instead of going the traditional way with eyeglasses he decided to add a monocle to enhance the theme of his look. He added a brooch to his bow tie to stylize and give it a bit of a focal point.He wanted to go for a European style because he wanted to get out of his comfort zone and achieve a more classic and sophisticated look with a modern vintage touch.

MR SL ♛ Italy describes the tuxedo for us, saying “It is a classic piece of menswear that hasn’t really changed in the last 100 years. It is the formal wear; the tuxedo that will suit every man. Dressing with a good formal outfit gives people a first idea about you and your attitude. All together it is fashion and allows you to be ready for a romantic date or a night at opera while being attractive and achieving a wow effect from the people around you”. MR SL ♛ Italy ’s detailed blazer, satin trousers and vest by Utopia makes it visibly different from its casual counterpart.The scarf, also by Utopia, adds a personal touch to the outfit and fashion. The black tie with the pins with a black gem, also by Utopia, fits like a glove in the style of the outfit, To this perfect formal look, he adds with careful selection, the formal shoes by Deadwool to fit the suit.

MR SL ♛ Ireland is wearing a tuxedo and bow tie in midnight blue by Deadwool. While black is a beautiful staple of formal wear, this color adds a level of elegance. The addition of the brooch by Orion compliments this classic look. MR SL ♛ Ireland 2018 is always comfortable in a suit or formal wear. This attire is something he often wears because with so few opportunities to dress up in RL, being able to do so in SL is one of his favorite things.

MR SL ♛ India is wearing a vintage style suit by Gabriel that radiates elegance and high class. This is the kind of suit that will feel right at home at such a formal occasion as a winter Gala or a Ball. Its most eye-catching features are surely the silky oversize bowtie and the popped collar harkening back to the Victorian era. MR SL ♛ India has accessorized the suit with a fur shoulder cape with embroidered jewel embellishments on it by TITZUKI, along with a lion’s head brooch by Chop Zuey on the suit lapel, an ornate ring adorning his hand by Zenith, an equally ornate monocle over his eye by Air and a striking headpiece by Modern Couture, all with the intention of really bringing a touch of luxury and glamour to the overall ensemble.MR SL ♛ India can’t go without mentioning the complementing very lux jeweled brogues by Zafair on his feet.

MR SL ♛ Czech Republic joins us again on the catwalk. As he reaches the front, he takes a deep breath and looks over the audience, and tells us, “Things are serious now. This is my best formal look ever, because honestly, I don’t wear formal outfits very much. So on the occasion I have to, I do all to look glamorous, feel glamorous, be glamorous. Nothing is more important, because you are showing your own personality. I will never forget this moment. I am shining! Okay, maybe only in my own eyes, but this is a win for me! Thank you for giving me this opportunity.” MR SL ♛ Czech Republic is wearing Marc jacket and pants from ASCEND in a dark, slategray color with black boots from [ hoorenbeek ], a leather choker by Gabriel and hair from Stealthic.

MR SL ♛ Colombia says, “Blue is a color that was reflected on this year’s catwalks. In 2017, in all seasons, blue was accompanied by other colors, but blue always predominated and that is reflected in the catwalks like Hermes, Moschino, and Chanel.” For these reasons, MR SL ♛ Colombia 2018 returns with the color blue for his finale, giving priority to this color trend in MR SL. MR SL ♛ Colombia wears a blue suit from DEADWOOL accompanied by a gold brooch with white pearls from BORGIA and some dark blue shoes from DEADWOOL.

Mr. SL ♛ Germany was inspired by a question posed to him by Hikaru Enimo. He asked what will I be remembered for after this competition is over. After giving it some real thought, he has decided that he wants to be known for being willing to take a chance and doing everything with that extra little bit of whatever makes him who he is and even being willing to take risks and hope for amazing results. For this outfit Mr. SL ♛ Germany is wearing the Baka Yakuza Suit from Bakaboo. He has added to the striking look with a simple dress shoe from L&B, styles it up with the lux ring3 nirvana from Yorsal and the Ozzy v2 sunglasses from Zoom and just for that extra bit of attitude a cigarette from Nikotin.
