Reflect and Refresh for the new month

Today I decided to the the word prompt of the day from The Daily Post.

Write a new post in response to today’s one-word prompt.

I feel that refresh is the right word for today, because it is the end of March. For me, spring is here, and we have set our clocks to reflect Daylight Saving Time (DST). I also believe another F word, “reflect”applies, for how can we refresh ourselves without reflecting on what has already been done?

In January, I had made some goals for myself that I spoke about here. So since this is the end of the third month of the year, let’s review my progress, shall we?

1. Work and create my own projects to work on

I have some real life events coming up soon, so I am trying to not take on more activities. However, I did have a talk with someone about starting a social club for singles. We have a lot of ideas for activities, but we are taking it slow. If you would like more information, you can contact ClariceRose inworld and tell her how you found out about it.

2. Patronize more SL businesses.

I have been back to the Terrace Lounge and Grille restaurant, took pics, etc. but have not blogged about my recent experience. Andrew was our server and he was great…he even added chicken to the menu this time ^^ If I still have my notes, I will make another review post. Otherwise I will have to go back 😀 I did promise a friend that I would take her out to eat once she got her new computer.

3. Meet and befriend more people, and strength current friendships.

I think I am doing that? One person that comes in mind is someone where we blogged for a major SL charity event earlier this year. I felt the experience brought us closer, and I am happy for that. And also see #1.

And as for my blog:

1. Write more opinion and instructional posts.

Okay – this I am definitely slacking on – I have a couple of pieces that have been at 90% completion for months now.

2. Engage with my readers and fellow bloggers.

I think this has been about the same, but I can always do more engagement.
3. Clearly define my blog’s focus (or focuses) and create posts that are aligned with my overall focus.

Honestly, I am not sure about this one. This is something I will definitely have to work on.
So now that I have reflected on what my goals are, I feel refreshed and ready for the new month to come in! Another thing that I have been doing (in real life) is to listen to the free meditations provided by Deepak Chopra called Shedding the Weight: Mind, Body, and Spirit.

Today is Day 11, but I am only on Day 7 because I started late. Days 1-6 are no longer available, but I believe you can pick up on any day to begin. These meditations definitely help me to refresh myself mentally.

Great post, Moni! I love the thoughtful words and, for what it’s worth, I think you’re well on your way to completing these new goals for your blog. Beautiful work, as always.
