Relaxing at the Ghorob Pavilion

Welcome to Part 2 of the Second Life Home & Garden Expo! SL was crazy today, and I kept crashing or not being able to teleport around the sims.

Let’s start off with Melino Style‘s Ghorob Pavilion, which was the first build that I liked during my perusing of the sims. The pavilion is decorated in beautiful bold colors, and the water in the center gives it a calming and peaceful feel to it. It’s a great way to spend a relaxing afternoon – a nice breeze, plenty of shade from the sun…I can go on.

Also, Tara Tagore, the creator of the Ghorob Pavilion,  is a wonderful person to talk to, so don’t hesitate if you have any questions about her items. She helped me with a purchase that I made earlier this year, which shows that customer service is a definite plus.

Second Life Home & Garden Expo 2012

Lately, whenever I go shopping in RL, I take pictures of items that I like, and would possibly buy if I had the money to do so. Also, it comes in handy when you want to make a purchase – all the details are in the picture. I decided to take that concept into Second Life, so I took photos of items that I liked at the Home & Garden Expo. According to the website,

“… 5th Annual Home & Garden Expo benefitting Relay For Life of Second Life, a fundraising campaign for the American Cancer Society.  This year’s Expo will open on May 19th at 6am SLT, and remain open 24 hours each day until it closes on May 28th at 10pm SLT . This year’s extravaganza will span THIRTEEN sims, so we’ve added more space to make it the best and biggest Expo, of it’s kind in SL, ever!”

Shopping for charity – always a good thing

  

One of the first things that caught my eye was this office workspace by Thistle Homes. It’s colorful, and makes good usage of primary colors without looking too elementary. If the color scheme of my house went with this, I could definitely see myself making some room to include this workspace.

Last Call to Culture Shock 2012

If you haven’t been to Culture Shock yet, today is the last day, so get going NOW. Plus with Memorial weekend here, there are sales and events all over the grid. I can hardly keep up myself…my poor pocketbook

Dresses like the one I am wearing from Peqe is the reason why I like mesh. It’s form-fitting with no prim skirt attachment that can be hard to fit, and looks different depending on your graphic settings. The color combination seems very tropical, and that’s what made me want to get this item. The skin is from Pink Fuel, which is also at Culture Shock. I love Mochi’s lipsticks and I wear them frequently. LoQ did a great job with this hair – short and edgy always has a place in my wardrobe ^^

Estetica has these cute chairs at the event – 7 poses and only 3 prims each! Now you know that you will need a chair one of these days…you can get a chair that is pretty, but will eat up your prims, or you can get an ugly low prim chair. Or you can just pick up this chair at the event

I was trying to see if I could get a better photo of the Pink Fuel skin, and I loved how this one turned out. The swimsuit is from Aleida, who is having a closing sale at the moment. Everything must go! I got a few more items from there, so I may blog it later.

This dress from Indrya Originals is hot…and also at Culture Shock. But I’ll tell you something ..

Cleaning out my closet, part 4

Last time I did a post with this, I had 44k worth of items in my inventory – now it’s up to just over 49k It feels like I haven’t blogged in like forever, but after last month’s heavy schedule of covering events I decided to take it easy for a few.

Ever had a moment where you didn’t know what the heck to wear, so you start randomly trying on things in your inventory? I had that moment the other day, so after seeing what I had in my inventory, I came up with this:

It started with the pants – I don’t think I have ever worn these pants before…at least not that I remember. Then I started looking for a nice top to go with it – and I decided to wear the top part of a dress. The rest of the outfit quickly came together after that.

I’m not sure whether the main parts of the outfit is still available – I went to LG to see if they had these pants, and although I found similar stuff, I didn’t find the Boudoire type pants. Meghindo’s is a huge store, so I didn’t check to see if the dress was still around. I think this was from an old group gift…hmm.

New @ Stuff In Stock

Hello! Just thought I would share with you what I got while shopping around the grid today! I recently found out about a new event called Stuff in Stock, which is a discounted item event. I am not sure how often the collection changes, but this session’s theme is all about Barbie!

Just about everything you see except the hair and eyes are from the event. I liked the casual lounge set from Crash Republic, and the Barbie skin from WoW Skins was too cute to pass up.

The pink jewelry is from BenS Beauty, and for its price it’s a nice bargin. The nails are from (of course!) Candy Nail, which is NOT at the event. Peche Bury recently had a sale on nails for only 99L. The sale is over now, but if you want to know when the next sale is, and to get a free pair of nails every month, I suggest you join the Candy Nails
