SL Fantasy Faire – Part 4

So I just heard that the Fantasy Faire will be around for one more day – yay! For those who have not gone to all of the wonderful sims yet,  today will be your last chance.

My favorite sim for design was Siren’s Secret.  The strange thing about it was, even though I loved the whole underwater effect, after 5 minutes of walking around, I started to get sleepy. And it wasn’t like I was tired or anything – my friend and I had just came from The Tides, and we were fully alert. I told my friend that we had to get out of  there or else I would pass out and fall into the water. And sure enough, whatever hold the Sirens had on me disappeared as we went to the next place.

When I got back home, I saw that I had a package from Tekelili Tantalus. It said to open near water, so I went down to the beach (gotta love beachfront properties ^^ ), and opened the package. I saw a purple flash jump into the water, and next thing I knew, a strange sensation came over me. Was I… turning purple too?

A voice said that his name was P. Sailman, and he wanted to take me on a tour of his home. Hmm…did I really made it home, or did I fall into the water at Siren’s Secret?  But then on the other hand, if this fish wanted to show me his place, who was I to say no? After all, I always gave tours of my home to new guests.

As I jumped into the water, P. Sailman took me further out into the ocean, until I started to see the ocean floor change. Hey….I never saw this before, I thought. I heard a reply. That’s because you are entering my home. Wow, he can hear my thoughts! Scary…

P. Sailman explained that only fish and fish-like creatures had the ability to withstand the depths of the ocean, so he had to make me more suitable in order for me to visit him. Makes sense…hey what’s that over there, Sailman?

Even though P. Sailman showed me his home and some of his favorite places to hang out, I had to promise not to tell other people, so no photos HOWEVER…if you ever see a sailfish, befriend it. Then,  you will be able to see for yourself the mysteries that the bottom of the ocean has for you. Luckily, you can find P. Sailman’s friends at the Fantasy Faire, at the Tekeli-li! shop area.

SL Fantasy Faire 2012 – Part 3

Hello everyone! I hope by now everyone has went to the Faire at least once, just to get an idea of what’s in store. I am glad there are a lot of sims to visit, because the chances of lag decrease (as opposed to an event on 1 sim).

I decided to explore the Thor Cavern caves - wonder what I will find in these parts…

Even thought I lit a candle so I could see better, the flame kept flickering in and out. Maybe I should have taken a torch instead?

While walking around, I accidentally fell down into a secret room – more like a landing, though.  I started to worry about how was I going to find my way out when I saw a green vine that seemed to be descending downward. After testing it to see whether it would hold up to my weight, I slowly made the decent down to….??

Nice! Someone left a pair of brown pants for me. Since it was getting cold in this cave, I needed to put on some clothing. Walking along the lower level, I started to look for supplies that I could make a fire…an exit would be even better. I could hear something further ahead. I had seen bats before in the cave, so maybe that was it. Maybe…

…it was a bear! Oh geez…I had heard if you try to make yourself as tall as you could and yell, the bear would get scared and run away. I was going to do that until I saw what the bear had been eating before I came. Was that a…human bone that I saw?

Needless to say that I got the heck out of that are as fast as I could before I would be the bear’s next meal. I could feel myself shiver as the temperature  dropped. What’s over there? There was a small opening to an area that seemed different from the rest of the cave. Hmm…perhaps if I tried to crawl inside, I could make it?

SL Fantasy Faire 2012 – Part 2

Welcome back to the Fantasy Faire event previews! Today I will show you some skins from La Petite Morte, created by Voshie Paine. The first time that I heard of this store was at Kozmetika last year – you remember that store that has all the cool makeup from different creators?

La Petite Morte has the  francesca imp skins out for Fantasy Faire, in 5 skin colors, each with a base skin + 4 makeups each. Francesca comes with the skin (cleavage and no cleavage), color changing horns, and a tail. The shape is sold separately, but I would recommend you get it so you can get the full effect of the look. What’s your favorite shade? For me it’s a tossup between Twilight and Sunrise ^^

A Benefit for Relay for Life
The Story Starts Now… With You!

Hello everyone! I am happy to announce that the Fantasy Faire 2012 event for Relay for Life will be starting tomorrow! I will show you a few goodies that you can get at the event, so you can start planning on what to get. You know how lag is at these events, so it’s good to have some sort of idea of how the events are set up beforehand. But first, what IS the Fantasy Faire? This is straight from the press release of the event, which I think explains nicely:

“From Saturday April 21 to Sunday April 29, 2012,  thousands of Second Life residents and creators will come together to support the American Cancer Society‘s vision of a world without cancer.  Nine Second Life sims will be transformed into the Fairelands, a fantasy continent created to host Fantasy Faire 2012, to benefit Relay for Life of Second Life (RFL of SL).

Fantasy Faire 2012 is the largest gathering of fantasy designers, enthusiasts, roleplayers and performers in the virtual world.  Nine days of shopping, live music concerts, auctions, hunts and roleplaying to benefit Relay for Life and the fight against cancer.  Avatars, clothing, furnishings, gadgets, goodies and exclusive items are available from more than 130 of SL’s  top  Fantasy Creators, spread across nine stunning sims designed by some of the visionary artists behind many of the hottest spots on the SL destination guide.

The Fantasy Faire 2012 is made possible by the generous support of Sim and Event Sponsors: Arcanum, Booshies, Epic Toy Factory, Fallen Gods Inc., NeoStreams, Rustica, –= Solarium =–, The Looking Glass, T R I D E N T, and Vaengi Wings.”

On the Fantasy Faire website, they have a list of designers that will be on each sim, and each sim has its own theme. For instance, look at the description of this sim:

“* Devil’s Locket (by Lauren Thibaud/ Piedras Chama/ Nonna Hedges) – a small chain of islands that earned its name not only for the treacherous navigation of its waters and the amazing, but explosive, firegems that were mined from its volcanic depths”

Wow – doesn’t that give you shivers? I want to go just to see what that would look like! But let me not get ahead of myself…it’s time to show you the goodies, as promised.

The first thing I will show you is Luxury in Diamond, from ~*~Fantasia~*~ . According to the designer, Dream Resistance, Luxury is inspired by the first district from the Hunger Games. If you didn’t know already, I love this top – it covers just enough so you can show your body off without being too obvious.  Combined with the collar, it makes for one decorative top.  Hmm…I’m not sure where the face implant that lined the brow went – I think it got detached somewhere between photos.

The ankh earrings, bracelets, and the belly chain are from Tekeli-li, who is also at the Fantasy Faire. Can I tell you a secret? The belly chain is really a necklace – I just resized it so I could wear it lower *winks*

Fantasy Faire is also having a hunt as part of the festivities. Dagmar Haiku of  Spessart made this cool skybox for it. I love the colors of the skybox – check it out:

Two distinct themes, joined together by stairs. This would be a cool backdrop for some beautiful photography, or if you wanted a place to hang with some of your closest friends – just add some furniture and you’re good to go!

52 Weeks of Color Challenge – Royal Purple & Seashell Peach

Hello guys – time to play catch up again with the 52 Weeks of Color Challenge! Last week we had the color Royal Purple. I didn’t feel like buying anything for this one, because come on – who doesn’t have purple in their inventories? So I found an old group gift from COCO that I got over 2 years ago (geez – I am getting up there!), and it still looks pretty good I think. Of course, now it would be in mesh, and I would probably have to lower my breast size so I could fit into my size

The hair comb was from Zuri – a  MOOLTO hunt gift. I’m guessing it was from last year sometime because I have Zuri’s last hunt gift, and it’s not it. The jewelry you can get right now at Purple Moon’s Easter egg hunt.

Wow – remember when everyone was wearing this hair from booN? I went to their store maybe 6 months ago – wish they would come out with more things.

This week’s color in Seashell Peach was tricky. There was a shirt from League that I could had used, but I saw that a few other people already had that. I had heard of a 25L skin at WoW Skins, so I went to check it out. I think this skin is peachy keen indeed!

Poche Doughnut – yummy!

Passed out from sugar bliss…

I’ve talked about poche before, but I haven’t been keeping tabs on the place until I saw it in a blog. It seems like they have a new place to call home – and more yummy goodies for us all!

On the right side they have some free doughnut parfaits in orange, strawberry, and kiwi. When I entered the shop, I was surprised to see that some people were already there relaxing and perusing the sweets.

On the table next to me are some hot doughnuts and coffee. To be honest, I’m not a huge fan of doughnuts (or donuts!) per se, but this place will either make you jump for joy or turn you off because of all the sugar around you. I wish this place had a subscribo or something so I will know when they update the place. According to the sign, poche will have something new sometime next month – can’t wait! ^^

I finally got into Collabor88 and again wanted to buy ALL the things. But I managed to get just one outfit from Kyoot (because it was so cute!) so I could have something pretty to show off these cool poses that I got from Morgane Batista‘s egg hunt.

Easter Sunday – 2012

It’s not quite a year since I started blogging, but I did start on Easter last year…so what better way to celebrate than to take a photo of me in my Sunday best?

I remember when I started this blog, I felt like I had a lot to share with people -  things I did, places I went to, and people that I met. I still do have a lot to share, but because my blog has been heavily fashion centered as of late because of all of the different events I have been covering, I find that my thoughts have taken a backseat as I made other things a priority.

What’s been on my mind lately? Since this is a religious day for me, I think this Bible quote is fitting:

Matthew 7:12 – “So in everything, do unto others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.”

To me, this is a very easy concept to understand, but based on how a lot of people act, it seems to be hard to follow in practice. This disappoints me, and when I see the actions of people not following this affect me and people that I care about, it pisses me off. I have lost several people who I considered to be my friends in SL this past year because they expected to be treated fairly, but would not or could not do the same towards others.

I don’t want you to think that I’m a Bible – toting fanatic or anything…I’m probably considered more spiritual than religious because I don’t go to church. I guess it lost its appeal when I went to Sunday school, and a girl was being disruptive towards me and the other people in the class. I thought about telling the Sunday school teacher, but decided against it. When I found out that the teacher was the disruptive girl’s mother, I had about enough of church. The situation was just a bit too hypocritical for my liking. So as you see, even as a kid I didn’t have a lot of tolerance for b.s.

Why do people like to hurt others? The easiest explanation is because they are insecure, and in a lot of cases, their life isn’t what they want it to be. So I guess it’s easier to put down others than to actively work on yourself. Many times they don’t realize that this is what they are doing, and it’s hard to change when you are not aware of your actions.  Then you have people who are aware of what they are doing, but they feel that what they say and do is justified. I have noticed that people of this type tend to do the most damage in situations because they feel they are right in their actions. I don’t think it’s ever a good thing to head up witch hunts against people and talk about them behind their backs. I’m not saying never say negative things about people, but a lot of drama could be avoided if people can say the same things to a person to their face as they do behind their back.

Another thing I don’t get is when people do messed up things to others and then say, “I didn’t want to hurt your feelings.” I wish someone would say, “No, you just didn’t want to own up to your actions, so you took the coward’s way out instead.” Again, if people would do unto others as they would want others to do undo them, there would be less drama. Hmm… I think I will say this next time someone says this to me – it’s a poor excuse for bad behavior.

That’s enough ranting from me for now Let’s end this post with something positive, shall we?

I went shopping over at the OGlam sim because several designers had items 50% off there. For instance, this outfit I got from Gizza was 50% off – it actually was a steal for under 200L. I also bought some of the winter collection from sYs that I had wanted when it first came out. I am happy to see OGlam coming out with so many events – the LeeZu fashion show was amazing. Unfortunately I couldn’t make it to the sYs show because I had a meeting to attend. The meeting was fun though – we talked about planning a fashion show for a country club that one of my friends is the chairperson for ^^

Wear Gray for a Day – Part 2

Welcome back for part 2 of the Wear Gray for a Day event  in Second Life! I was looking for the official logo before so I could add it to my first post, but I could not find it at the time.  Last time I checked, this event made nearly 200,000L (that’s what, over $760?). And it’s only been one day guys – can you imagine how much it will be by the end of the 22nd? I have some great goodies to show you all, so sit tight and let’s begin ^^

The first thing I would like to show you is Glam Affair‘s latest skin – Leah. Everyone is talking about this skin, mainly because this particular skin from Aida Ewing has more of a a mainstream appeal. I usually wear Glam Affair skins when I want a more high fashion look to my photos, but some may not want to look like that all the time. Yes – the skin is gray, and the first photo shows what the skin looks like naturally, with no makeup. You can buy several makeups at the Glam Affair booth at the event – I chose to get Speed.

You can also find the mesh corset from Maai * (created by Snow Wolfhunter) that I am wearing at the event as well – it’s called Roxy. Besides it being black, I love how the waist is cinched in – very distinctive.

The poses I used for this set are from Corpus - not at the Wear Gray event, but I am making more of an effort to give more credit to pose makers ^^

I forgot where I saw Wall Candy *, but when I did, I thought – “This is a great idea!” Crys Lexenstar has all sorts of designs and quotes when you go to the mainstore. The pink and aqua blue Dottie flowers can be found at the event, along with this outfit from evolve * . Bellastarr Fhang made the cutest kellie sweatshirt and varsity mini for it, and if you are not a big fan of gray, you can get the mini in different colors. This pose is from Melina Fetuccio’s  Fly Lily * brand. I like how she has a lot of fun poses – good if you want to be casual or a bit playful in your posing.

Irischka Hotshot of Iren *  has several things at the Wear Gray event. I paired the camo leggings and the “My comfy top” together, though the leggings can be worn with the special Wear Gray dresses too. This pose is also from Fly Lily.

This silver mini dress in Brocade is from B[ELLE]issima * , and it’s one of the Wear Gray Hunt Mini dresses that Elle74 Zaftig has available. There are a good amount of merchants that are participating in the hunt, denoted by the sign in front of their shops on the sim. The pose is from Rozena, and the simplicity of the pose Lindsay Rozen made shows off this lovely dress, but not distractingly so.

Oh – when I saw these infirmary masks from Beauty Killer, I had to get one! It comes in 10 different textures that you can change. Kevinn Draconia  must have been in a Kawaii mood indeed lol. And what perfect way to show off a beautiful pair of eyes from Rosemarie Indigo’s Banana Banshee * – Kitten in Rose.  The hair is from Truth - Velvet. Truth is not at the Wear Gray event, but since I used Truth hair in just about every photo, why not mention it?

Okay – that’s all from me for now. I hear Mockie has her new makeup at the Wear Gray event, so I’m going to run over and get it ^^

Fashioncentric’s Hi5! Hunt – Part 4

Wow – can you believe the Fashioncentric Hi5 Hunt starts today? I have some more hunt prize previews from various designers coming up! Click on the pictures so you can see it bigger.

When I put this outfit from PurpleMoon on , the first thing that struck me were the lovely warm  colors. I wouldn’t say that orange and yellow were my favorite colors or color combination, but this definitely works. Poulet Koenkamp made the cutest rose tiara to match Di Bodysuit, and it is included as part of the outfit.

This dress from Cero Style by Osterhase Yellowjacket has translucent layers, with a bit of color when the light hits it. It has a light and airy feel to it despite it being full length.  The long flowing sleeves reminds me of  pretty fairy wings that I saw once in a store.

In this set I have 3 things to show you. The skin that I am wearing is Melanie from Diamond Avatar, created by Cristal Triellis.  I think this is a nice shade for those that favor the darker skin colors. The purple dress (including bangles)  is from Paris Metro (designed by rfb morpork) – great for a fun night out on the town. For some reason, with the right accessories, this dress would be good for an 80′s theme. The boots come from !Drakke! by Mandrakke Dagger. They have both women and men version of boots, so everyone gets to share in the fun ^^

Rebel Hope has a pink gown as their  hunt gift. I like how it looks soft to the touch, and silky too!

And last, but definitely not least, 4 items to show you here. The black Luna babydoll is from La Petite Coquette, skin is from Dulce Secrets (by AnneAlyce Maertens) , jewelry is from Stars! (by Stargem Winkler), and shoes is from Shelly’s Bootylicious Gear ( by Shelly LeMay).
