Party Time!

JB and I had our first major party on Sunday to celebrate Thanksgiving. This was the invite we sent out to everyone:

At first people showed up one at a time. That was good, because we got to spend some quality time with them. One friend who I hadn’t seen in a while had fun as me and JB danced for him. Then, we had fun jet-skiing around the sim with another friend…until we got stuck going around a curve ^^. One of JB’s friends took us on a tour of her own house, which was fine because no one else was at the house at that time. In between guests, we went looking at some land – we are looking for a bigger parcel, but not sure what to get. Maybe I will talk about that another time.

I think the party really started when my friend Bunny came over. She DJs in SL, and she was telling us about how she was recently engaged (yay!) and how maybe I could be her fashion consultant for her wedding. All of sudden this person tps in right between me and Bunny. JB and I at first thought it was one of her friends, but she had said it was not. So then I start asking her (I think we all asked) how did she know about the party, for she said she was here to party.

 Monica Querrien: thank you
  Kit Astermann: You really want to spend the whole evening here?
 Monica Querrien: hun im busy all the time…im never at home hehe
 Monica Querrien: tok the day off to relax and party
Monica Querrien: took*
  Kit Astermann: This is not home?
  Monica Querrien: yes this is where me and my best friend jb live
  Kit Astermann: So, you three girls dancing here like that is your idea of a good time?
  Monica Querrien: yes because i love dancing
 Kit Astermann: Dancing with 2 other girls that is
 Monica Querrien: whoever
  Monica Querrien: so how did you find out about this place
  Monica Querrien: were you somewhere else on the sim
 Kit Astermann: I heard it from the grape wine
  Monica Querrien: hmm doubt it
 Kit Astermann: Does it matter?
  Monica Querrien: cause no one got a lm or coordinates
  Kit Astermann: I guess I did
  Monica Querrien: in a way yes because even though today is open house I would like to know how people find out about the party if neither hostess invited them
  Kit Astermann: Right … this party should have some boubdaries

So, soon after she leaves, saying how the party was boring. Um…I think she was pretty boring for her not to like dancing and talking during a social event (can you tell I was pretty peeved that I still did not know where she came from? lol). I have some theories as to who it could be – I do not think that was a random event. Bunny said it’s not a party until someone crashes it…very true!

Anyways, Bunny brought her fiance and a couple of people…and a friend of mine came. I told Ellie she made good use of the plank platform (not just used for modeling anymore ^^)

I was very pleased with the turnout, considering that the majority of people did not know until the actual day of the party. JB said next time we can give them more notice. I find it that sometimes if you tell them too far ahead of time, they tend to forget.

More Black Friday Goodies

I have some goodies from theWarehouse sale on Black Friday (weekend). You have to be a member of the group to gain access to the sim, but it’s worth it. I had gotten a lot of items last summer (2010), so this was just to see did I miss out on anything.

Today’s main piece is called Milla Milla  in Aufren Black by {Gisaci}. You can never have too many black items in your wardrobe, for you can use accessories to accent other colors.

For instance, I have on a belt by R.icielli called MARGOT in black, and shoes from N-core (old group gift).

Armidi makes the best sunglasses. Last time I got the Fi Umo sunglasses in Black Tortoise with black lenses. Every time I wear them and I am out and about, I get compliments. So this time I decided to get a few more pair that I wasn’t able to get in the last sale. These are Dark Tortoise with black lenses.

This pair is White Tortoise with blue lenses, which i thought was a nice contrast. I am also wearing a Water Healing Koi Bangle (left arm) and a Glitz bangle combo (right arm). I was talking witha  friend the other day and she spoke about the importance of stocking up on classic items. When I said Armidi had a lot of classic items, she agreed. How many stores that you can name that has basic items that can stand the test of time for years after they have been designed?

BOOM! Guess who stepped in the room?

BOOM has had a great sale for Black Friday and this weekend – 60% off items on Friday, 40% off on Saturday, and 25% off today. I went early Saturday, hoping that they didn’t change their prices yet. They had indeed, but I still managed to snag a few items ^^

Let me just finish drinking my wine first…

This is one of my favorite places at home – siting out on the patio, relaxing with a glass of wine. Ahh….

On second thought, I guess I can talk about what I have on first while drinking, right? This is BOOM’s Boyfriend Tee in lipstick. I love these because they are good when you need to go somewhere in a hurry, but can’t be bothered with adjusting prims and the like.  I have a brown one from Sassy, and a purple one from Shush.

Also, Pink Fuel has a awesome Black Friday Sale this weekend on their Elly skin – you get two makeups for only 450L, and they have a ton (and I mean a ton) of lipsticks that go with it. I’m currently wearing  Glam Lipstick/Teeth – (Vamp).

(Note: I was supposed to make this post wearing the new skin, but it looks like I have my regular skin from Al Vulo on…oops.)

The hair that I have on is from Truth - Clara in chocolate. It comes with its own hair base, so you know I had to switch to a viewer that supports multiple tattoo layers ^^ I am starting to use Firestorm more because I got used to the layout finally.

This outfit is from BOOM as well – Park Life Hoodie and sweatpants, both in Teal. You know, if I didn’t understand how one color can look totally different depending on what material (well texture) you use, I would be greatly disappointed in that how hard it was to find matching colors. I am not sure whether they were supposed to go together or not, but hey, they were next to each other when I bought them And it looks great – I love wearing sweatpants and hoodies when I’m in a dress down kinda mood.

I was looking for more casual tanks I could use for layers or something to go underneath my jackets, and it needed to be a neutral color, too. So this Everyday Tank in Sand works perfectly.

This outfit was quite popular in the summer – A Day on the Yacht. To complete the look, I have the Ahoy Sailor Cap, Deck Shoes (not shown) and Lynx Skinny Belt.

This is what the Pink Fuel Elly skin looks like for those who really wanted to see it. Doesn’t it look hot? And you can kinda see why I thought I had it on first…hehe.
